The German market is getting Mercedes most over the top wagon ever – turning it into the most expensive base version for the entire E Class family.
And of course you’re getting a lot for the €112,907 base price – for starters the 571 horsepower (420 kilowatts) and 553 pound-feet (750 Newton-meters) of torque worth of engine. And this “standard” station wagon has nothing regular about it – performance stands at 3.6 seconds for the 62 mph (100 kph) sprint and an electronically-controlled 155 mph (250 kph) maximum speed. Though you can even top that with the S version costing €124,688. For that you get even more power at 612 hp (450 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm), for an even faster sprint. The optional AMG Driver’s Package includes, among others, the increase in maximum speed to 180 mph (290 kph). Need to show off your cash – then go for the E63 S Estate Edition 1, which is a one-year limited series going for €139,980.
For the cash you’ll be getting designo selenite grey magno or designo night black magno paints, the AMG Night Package, body stripes, and matte black 20-inch forged wheels with a high-gloss polished rim flange. In addition, inside you’ll find black nappa leather upholstery with yellow contrast stitching, carbon fiber trim, and some more yellow accents applied throughout the cabin – while the steering wheel gets an “Edition 1” badge.
