Mercedes-Benz is currently working on a hot version of the recently unveiled AMG GT, the Black Series.
A new range-topping version of the Mercedes-AMG GT is on its way as the car manufacturer has recently announced, through the voice of the AMG CEO, Tobias Moers. According to the company’s official, the model in question will be a Black Series but this will be predeceased by a “nice variant”. Little else is known on this mysterious model except for the fact that it will be launched in about two years and it will slot between the current GT S and the upcoming GT Black Series.
As a small reminder, the Mercedes-AMG GT has been officially presented to the public a couple of months ago, during the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The model is being offered in two versions, both of them equipped with the same 4.0 liter biturbo V8 engine. This is rated at 462 HP (339 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque, in the base variant, while in the AMG GT S, this comes with 510 HP (375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. The AMG GT has replaced the SLS AMG, despite being smaller, lighter and cheaper.
