Rumors on Mercedes planning a hotter version of the AMG GT, the Black Series, have started once more and it seems that the sports car has some pretty good chances of receiving such a variant.
If the Mercedes AMG GT has gotten your attention but you feel that this might be underpowered, you should probably wait until the end of this year when the German based automaker will probably introduce a hotter version, the AMG GT Black Series. This isn’t the first time when we are hearing about such a model and it will not be the last time either, because the newest report is coming from the guys at Autocar.
According to our source, the Mercedes AMG GT Black Series is a possibility and it goes on speaking about some of the similarities and differences between the AMG GT and the SLS AMG Black Series. Keep in mind that the AMG GT is considered to be the spiritual successor of the SLS AMG, despite being smaller, less powerful and also cheaper than its “father”. The current versions of the sports car, the AMG GT and the AMG GT S, are both packing in the same 4.0 liter biturbo V8 engine under their hoods.
In the cheapest version, the AMG GT, which costs 115,430 euros, the unit is capable of producing a total output of 462 HP (339 kW) and 442 lb-ft) of torque, while in the more powerful AMG GT S, which can be yours from 134,351 euros, this is reaching 510 HP (375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque.
