A second body style of the recently unveiled Mercedes-AMG GT, a convertible, might be introduced sometimes next year.
Mercedes-Benz’s new range topping sports car, the AMG GT, might be receiving a second body style, in the near future. The announcement hasn’t been made official at this time but it is actually part of a report published by the guys from GT Spirit. According to our source, the model in question should be receiving a convertible, sometimes next year, which will be similar in performance to the currently available coupe.
If it will indeed get the green light, than the Mercedes-AMG GT Convertible will be offered with the same 4.0 liter V8 biturbo engine, as its solid roof brother, which will come in two output levels. The entry-level will get 462 HP (339 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque, while in the range-topping AMG GT S this will be producing 510 HP (375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration should be made in approximately the same time as the current coupe and the top speed will be similar too. Pricing will be different as the convertible will be more expensive.
