The most hardcore iteration of the Mercedes-AMG GT is the R version, packing a hefty 577 horsepower thanks to its massaged biturbo 4.0-liter V8 – but the model is dwarfed by a vehicle inspired by it.
We’re talking about Cigarette Racing’s 2017 50’ Marauder AMG – which has more than five times the power – thanks to its pair of Mercury Racing engines, the powerboat goes out to see with no less than 3,100 hp. And they’re even dual-calibration engines, so two instances of the output can be had – use the Race Key fob and you’ll get the full ,550 hp of each engine, while the Pleasure Key fob (yes, no mistake about the name) comes with a mere 1,350 hp. The new boat is also a way to celebrate a decade-long partnership enacted by Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing. The exterior style is clearly inspired by the GT R and comes with the same Green Hell Magno paint details.
Meanwhile, the AMG Performance Studio was tasked to craft the interior seat inserts and in order to celebrate the Affalterbach’s division 50 years of existence, the bow has a bespoke logo. As it can be seen clearly, the boat uses lots of carbon fiber – and the engineers dropped more than 1,300 pounds (590 kg) over the standard model. Even the engine hatch is made entirely out of carbon fiber, as are the cockpit, deck, and consoles. The unique 2017 50’ Marauder AMG is live at the Miami International Boat Show in Florida at the Marine Stadium Park & Basin.
