Mercedes’ newest creation, the AMG GT3 racing car, has been officially unveiled and it will be offered for sale shortly, with the first deliveries announced for later on this year.
The German based automaker Mercedes has officially pulled the wraps off its newest creation, the AMG GT3. The model in question is a racing car which has been designed to meet the FIA GT3 specifications. This will become available for order shortly but the first deliveries will begin later on this year, as the company has recently announced.
“Developed to comply with the FIA’s GT3 race rules, the racing car will compete in the world’s most hotly contested customer race series. Cutting-edge racing technology and spectacular design predestine the new challenger for victories. The new GT3 is based on the Mercedes-AMG GT, which is being launched in just a few days’ time”, says the carmaker in its official press release.
The brand new Mercedes-AMG GT3 is packing an aggressive carbon fiber wide body kit which is made out of the ventilated front fenders, the different front and rear bumpers, the new doors, the modified side skirts, the prominent rear wing, the rear diffuser and several other tweaks. The interior design of the racer is bringing the digital instrument cluster, the carbon fiber racing seat, the steel roll cage, the carbon fiber trim, new steering wheel and so on. The new AMG GT3 has a 6.3 liter V8 engine under its hood, which is an upgraded version of the one used on the SLS AMG GT3, connected to a 6-speed sequential racing transmission.
