Mercedes-AMG introduces first of three new Edition models for Geneva – GT C Roadster Edition 50 image

The high performance sports division is kicking off its “50 Years of Driving Performance anniversary” by revealing the new AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50.

This is only the first out of three special editions that seek to deliver even more driving performance to select few. “2016 was the most successful year so far in our company history. We shall be using this momentum to fill even more customers with enthusiasm for Mercedes-AMG in our anniversary year, 2017. We shall be supported in this by our new Editions, which we are presenting at the Geneva Motor Show. So we can now offer our customers an even wider choice of individual performance models”, commented Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG.

The AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50 special model will be limited to just 500 units worldwide, and comes with two special paint finishes in designo graphite grey magno or designo cashmere white magno. Black chrome accents enhance the detailing – on the side skirt trim, the front splitter, the trim strips in the air intakes of the Panamericana grille, the fins on the side air outlets in the front wings, the trim on the rear diffuser and the exhaust tailpipe trim elements. The cross-spoke AMG forged wheels also get the same black chrome finish. Inside, the customers will get the STYLE Exclusive nappa leather in silver pearl/black with grey diamond-patterned contrasting topstitching, the Dinamica microfibre with grey contrast topstitching for the black AMG Performance steering wheel complete with 12 o’clock mark in silver pearl, as well as “Edition 50″ lettering. The model also features a standard AMG Interior Night package – while the powertrain remains the same: 4.0-litre V8 with twin turbochargers rated at 557 hp and 680 Nm.
