Mercedes and boat company team up for AMG GT3-inspired water racer image

Mercedes-Benz, the second largest luxury automaker in the world, alongside marine partner Cigarette Racing has taken the wraps off the first teaser picture for the upcoming AMG GT3 – inspired SD GT3 boat.

The new boat model will make its official worldwide debut during the Miami International Boat Show on February 11th, with the bespoke contraption taking cues from the Mercedes-AMG GT3 track car. Both companies have refrained from delivering too many details but we see here a boat in the 41-feet category that will adopt a silver exterior paint job with contrasting yellow accents. While the silhouette of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 racer clouds the details of the boat and without being true connoisseurs of this particular industry we can make out an open cockpit covered in a rather short roof.

Since we don’t know much about the boat, we can get back into our comfort zone and tell you about the Mercedes-AMG GT3 – this racer was introduced last year packing a menacing carbon fiber body kit with bespoke bumpers, ventilated front fenders, and modified side skirts. We can also remind you of the track car’s ventilated hood, carbon fiber flics, rear diffuser, and massive rear wing. With FIA GT3 specifications, the model comes with a specific cockpit with carbon fiber racing seat and steel roll cage, while motivation is provided by the 6.3-liter V8 engine linked to a six-speed sequential racing transmission.
