The Mercedes-AMG division and its marine partner Cigarette Racing have revealed the newest product of their collaboration – a powerboat designed as a tribute to the AMG GT3 racer.
Mercedes and Cigarette Racing have been teaming up together on such special collaborations for quite some time now and over the years they have presented more than one boats, so this latest addition comes as no surprise – especially since they teased the latest fruit of their collaboration quite recently. And if you have trouble recalling recent collaborations we may highlight the C63-inspired 2012 Black Series 50′ Marauder Cigarette, SLS AMG Electric Drive-linked 2013 Electric Drive, Vision GT-themed 2014 Vision GT, and last year’s GT S-inspired 50 Marauder GT S. Now the automaker and the boat builder have presented the new powerboat in time for the 2016 Miami Boat Show which is now taking place, with a design heavily influenced by the track-exclusive AMG GT3. Called the “Cigarette Racing Team 41’ SD GT3”, this powerboat has the power of two 1,100-hp Mercury Racing engines that will deliver an incredible top speed of 100 mph, which is actually limited.
The powerboat stands at 41 feet in length, has an 11-foot beam and tips the scales at a nudge over 20,000 pounds (9,071 kilograms). We can see how the design has been mirrored from the AMG GT3 but we can also highlight the complete teak wood floor and marine grade leather cabin which is actually present for the first time on a Cigarette boat.
