Mercedes-Benz has recently announced its plans to introduce an Edition 1 version of the brand new A45 AMG hot hatch.
With sports car performance an amazing body and a practical interior design, the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is the most powerful hot hatch ever and now the German based automaker wants the model to become even hotter, with the help of some tweaks. According to the car manufacturer, the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG will get a special edition, named the Edition 1, which will be similar to the one offered on the CLA. The A45 AMG Edition 1 is finished in Cirrus White, with matte graphite gray accents, and with an optional Aerodynamics package, adding aero bits, a large front spoiler and a big rear wing.
Additional details on the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG Edition 1 are limited for the moment and will probably be announced in a couple of weeks, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, where the model will make its public debut. As a quick reminder, the standard A45 AMG is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, generating a total output of 360 HP (265 kW) at 6,000 rpm, with a peak torque of 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), available between 2,250 and 5,000 rpm. The unit is mated to an AMG Speed Shift DCT seven-speed dual clutch sports automatic transmission, providing a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration of just 4.6 seconds, and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
