Mercedes-Benz has released a couple of images with the upcoming AMG GT, ahead of its public debut scheduled to be fully revealed in a few months.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT has taken a few steps from a simple sketch to a test mule and now the model is more than ready to be officially unveiled, but until that will happen, the German based carmaker is making sure that everything is in its place and working just like it should. The sports car will replace the SLS AMG soon but it won’t be a direct successor of the model, but a simple sports car developed independently by Mercedes-AMG.
Just two images of the upcoming model have been released by the company and both of them are showing the cabin, which has a two-tone red and black theme, with leather finished dashboard, center console and seats. The roofliner is finished in Alcantara and there are also aluminum and carbon fiber inserts and a three-spoke steering wheel. Reports are saying that the AMG GT will be powered by a 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine, which is rated at approximately 520 HP (387 kW), but a lower-spec might bring 480 HP (358 kW), while a Black Series, 580 HP (432 kW). No more details of the model are available for the moment. The AMG GT will be presented this October, during the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
