The newest sports car produced by Mercedes-Benz will be officially unveiled on the 9th of September.
Following several spy photos and teaser images with it, the new Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is about to be officially unveiled. According to the German automotive media, the model in question will be first shown, in an online reveal, on the 9th of September. The model in question will be replacing the current SLS AMG but it will be cheaper, smaller and less powerful. It will be riding on a new platform and it will get the same long hood but its doors will be conventional and not have the gullwing design of the SLS.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT will be powered by a 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine, which will be providing 510 HP (375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque, in the more expensive GT-S version, while in the base variant it will get 462 HP (340 kW). The GT-S is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds and to reach a top speed of 312 km/h (194 mph). The company is believed to develop a new range topper Black Series, which will bring it closer to supercars produced in Italy.
