The upcoming sports car produced by Mercedes-Benz, the AMG GT, will be weighing less than 1,600 kg (3,527 lbs), as a report is currently indicating.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the help of a new report, which is talking about its weight, and not only. According to the guys from Mercedes-Benz Passion Blog, the sports car in question will be weighing less than 1,600 kg (3,527 lbs), and it will basically look like a smaller an newer SLS AMG, with its S-Class Coupe like taillights, with the Multibeam LED system but lacking the gullwing doors.
As you probably already know by now, the AMG GT will be replacing the SLS AMG and it will be smaller, lighter, less powerful and also less expensive. The model in question will be taking its power from the 4.0 liter V8 biturbo V8 engine, which will be producing a total output of 455 HP. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT will be competing against models such as the Jaguar F-Type or the Porsche 911 and it will be officially unveiled on the 9th of September. The sports car will be making its public debut in October, during the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
