The brand new Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo will reach a limited production thanks to a custom builder who will use an SLS AMG GT in order to create it.
Mercedes-Benz has created the AMG Vision Gran Turismo for the game with the same name which can be played on PlayStation but it has also made a concept version of the virtual model, playing with the feelings of the company’s fans. While the German based automaker has no plans of putting the AMG Vision Gran Turismo into production, that can’t be said about a custom builder, who will use an SLS AMG GT in order to give birth to a limited number of supercars.
The new supercar which will be based on the 2014 SLS AMG GT will have a body made entirely out of carbon fiber and this means 91 kg less (200 lbs) than the regular vehicle. IT’s said to receive a chrome paint job and a set of custom ADV.1 wheels, a bespoke exhaust system, a retractable spoiler and a modified interior design. Power will be provided by a 6.3L V8 unit, from the SLS AMG GT, which is good for 591 HP (435 kW). The 0 to 100 km/h sprint in the standard 2014 SLS AMG GT takes 3.7 seconds but the custom vehicle is expected to be slightly faster. Only 5 units of the AMG Vision Gran Turismo will be produced and one of them has been sold already. Each one will cost 1.5m USD.
