The German based automaker Mercedes-Benz is planning to develop a hot version of the new B-Class generation, which will probably be known as the B45 AMG.
The new generation of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class wasn’t ready for the A45 AMG hot hatch version and rumors were saying that the model will be dropped and the B45 AMG will be produced instead, but recently, the truth came out and we could actually see the first official images with the all-new A45 AMG. But with the model being revealed and close to hitting the market, the company’s officials are now getting ready to produce a hot version of the new B-Class, which will wear the B45 AMG name.
“If there’s a market for it, there’s a good chance we’;; have it”, said the AMG head of development, Tobias Moers.
Just like its smaller brothers, the A45 AMG and the CLA 45 AMG, the B45 AMG will get the same 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine under its hood, which is good for approximately 335 HP (246 kW) and over 400 Nm (295 lb-ft of torque). The unit will be mated to a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual clutch transmission which will send its power to the all-wheel drive system. Additional details on the B45 AMG are limited for the moment.
