Mercedes-Benz is currently testing out a new body style of the new C-Class generation, the convertible.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabrio has been caught on camera by our spy photographers while it was being tested out. It seems that the company will not rename it as it did with its bigger brother, the CLK, which has become the E-Class Cabrio. The vehicle will be competing with convertible versions of the BMW 2-Series and the Audi A3 and it should be a pretty good choice for customers looking into a more premium and refined model, who aren’t big fans of BMW and Audi.
Rumor has it that the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabrio will be using the same underpinnings as its four-door sedan brother and this will include the same design, except for the roof of course, the same interior, the same “gadgets” and last, but not least, the same engine lineup. It remains unknown for the moment whether the carmaker will be adding an AMG version of the new C-Class Cabrio but chances are we will see such a variant. More details on the convertible version of the C-Class are limited for the moment and will be announced probably this fall, as the model is expected to be unveiled during the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
