Mercedes-Benz has recently announced its plans to introduce a long wheelbase version of the new C-Class generation on the Chinese auto market.
The new generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class may have been just recently unveiled but that isn’t stopping the German based automaker into considering new body styles for the model. One of these body styles will be a long wheelbase version, which will be aimed towards the Chinese auto market, were such vehicles are highly appreciated and Mercedes-Benz is already offering an E-Class LWB in the country.
“In the past we built cars, today we develop generations of models. There will be a long-wheelbase version for the specific needs of Chinese clients. This car will be built in China, exclusively for that market”, as Thomas Weber told Reuters.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class LWB is believed to be offered with exactly the same engine lineup and interior tweaks as the regular four-door variant, but as the wheelbase will increase, so will the rear legroom. We’re not sure when the carmaker will pull the wraps off such a model, but one thing is for sure, the regular C-Class will be officially presented to the public during the 2014 NAIAS, in Detroit, next month.
