According to the German based automaker Mercedes-Benz, the newest C-Class variant, the C180 BlueEfficiency, has just been launched in Malaysia, where the cheapest W204 gets a starting price of RM227,888 on the road, without insurance. The model is actually RM35,000 cheaper than the C200 CGI in the Elegance specification level. Mercedes-Benz says that the model introduced in Malaysia isn’t getting the 1.6L 154 HP and 250 Nm of torque engine, but the same 1.8 liter unit found on the C200 and on the C250 versions, which are already available on the Asian country.
The Mercedes-Benz C180’s engine (M271 DEH) is developing a total output of 156 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 250 Nm available between 1,600 and 4,200 rpm, which is identical to the one found on the C180 Coupe. The 1,495 kg vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 223 km/h. Transmission comes as a 7G-Tronic seven-speed. In the cabin, the C180 gets piano black trim, Artico leather upholstery and some other goodies which will make your life easier, along with the 17-inch alloy rims found on the rest of the range.
