The upcoming Mercedes-Benz C350e Plug-in Hybrid will become available to its future customers starting from next month.

If you were looking for a plug-in hybrid version of the new C-Class generation, we have some good news for you, because the C350e Plug-in Hybrid will be starting taking orders starting from January, 2015. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet and it is actually part of a report, which has been published by Mercedes-Benz Passion Blog. Our source is stating that the model in question will be named as the C350e, where the “e” is highlighting the fact that this is a plug-in hybrid.

The brand new Mercedes-Benz C350e will be coming with a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline burner under its hood, which is capable of putting down 208 HP (155 kW). The internal combustion engine is backed up by an electric motor, which is adding an extra 80 HP (60 kW), fed with juice from a 8.2 kWh lithium ion battery pack, which has been installed above the rear axle. The model should be able to travel for approximately 32 km (20 miles) on electric power alone and in hybrid mode, the average fuel consumption will stand at just 2.1L/100km (134.5 mpg UK / 112 mpg US).
