The German based automaker Mercedes-Benz has recently previewed the Citan delivery van, which will make its world debut next September, in Hanover, at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show.
According to the automaker, the Mercedes-Benz Citan will be offered as a panel van, a crewbus and a mixed-use vehicle, and it will come as a new delivery van. The upcoming model will enter the Mercedes-Benz lineup just like its “brothers” and “sisters”, in a variety of lengths and weights.
“We will take advantage of the trend toward city vans, which our brand will be able to exploit thanks to its attractively priced vehicles and the high quality of our products and services. Our typical Mercedes-Benz reliability, 24/7 service, and, last but not least, our great brand image are key selling points as far as our commercial customers are concerned”, said the Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, Volker Mornhinweg.
Even if the upcoming commercial vehicle, the Citan, has been previewed by Mercedes-Benz, the German based manufacturer didn’t provide any official details on the model yet, except the fact that its powertrains will include low-emission gasoline and diesel engines, and a BlueEFFICIENCY package will also be available. Besides all of these, an electric drive version is also in the works. The Mercedes-Benz Citan will be launched in autumn 2012.
