A new rendering is showing us the Mercedes-Benz CLA in a pickup truck body style.
Trying to find out the exact purpose of a Mercedes-Benz CLA pickup truck can turn out to be quite tricky but, then again, if it will catch the production line, by some miracle, chances are it will be the hottest one on the market. The image posted above is nothing more than a simple rendering which has been put together by X-Tomi Design. The model has received a chopped off roof and a two-seat layout, with the rear end being transformed into an open bed. The CLA in question has still maintained its slightly sloping roofline and we can see some kind of practicality if it will grow in size. Keep in mind that chances of this hitting the production line are as high as the CLA receiving a mid-engine.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA has been in production in Hungary since 2013 and from this year it is also being put together in India. The model has been introduced back in 2013 at the NAIAS in Detroit and it was offered for sale in the same year, in April. Five months later it ended up in the United States too. This is a compact four-door coupe with a front engine and front- / all-wheel drive layout, being related to the A-Class, B-Class and GLA. It packs a 2.1 liter diesel engine, a 1.6 liter gasoline and a 2.0 liter gasoline burner under its hood, connected to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic transmission. The CLA is also offered in a Shooting Brake body style.
