Mercedes-Benz is planning to introduce a direct rival for the BMW X6, which is expected to be name the MLC.
The German based automaker Mercedes-Benz is apparently one of the busiest carmakers in the world and in between developing new generations for its models, it’s also preparing completely new vehicles. One of these vehicles will be an SAV, based on the current ML-Class generation, which will become a direct competitor for the popular BMW X6. The model in question will probably be named the MLC and it will become available with six- and eight-cylinder gasoline engines in the U.S., while in Europe it will get diesels too.
The engineering costs of the new Mercedes-Benz MLC are expected to be kept low, because the new model will basically be a simple ML with a different body style. This means that the final price of the vehicle will not be exaggerated and this can quickly become the difference in customers choosing the Mercedes or the BMW. The Mercedes-Benz MLC is said to be in development and this means that the model is close to being officially unveiled. Additional details on the new MLC are limited for the moment and will probably be announced next year or in 2015.
