A more powerful version of the Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG could make its way onto the market next year, as the company’s AMG chief Tobias Moers recently admitted.
The German based automaker Mercedes-Benz is planning to introduce a more powerful version of the CLA45 AMG in 2014. The model in question will not be the much-awaited CLA45 AMG Black Series but it focus on the recently introduced Racing Series. The company’ official said that a Black Series is out of the question of the nearby future but expect such a version over the following years, as Mercedes-Benz will probably expand the CLA lineup.
“2014 will be a very important year for AMG”, as Tobias Moers said, but he refused to offer some details about the upcoming produces. The Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG, in its current form, is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which is producing a total output of 355 HP (265 kW) at 6,000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), available between 2,250 and 5,000 rpm. The unit is mated to a 7-speed sports AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT transmission. The CLA45 AMG has the same engine and gearbox as the A45 AMG.
