German tuning company Posaidon has worked its magic on a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG as the model has been upgraded.
Tuning a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG is trickier than most people think because chances of it becoming a kitschy ride are bigger than it being transformed into an even more appealing vehicle than the original one. This is why it is always better to leave its exterior design and the cabin original and work your magic under the hood. And since we are already talking about a very powerful engine, this has to become even hotter to be worth mentioning. Posaidon has managed to upgrade the turbocharged unit under the hood of the performance SUV and the model has now become more powerful than most of today’s supercars.
The stock 5.5 liter twin turbo V8 engine has been maintained but the tuning company has replaced the turbochargers with more powerful ones and has also worked on the ECU, on the intercooler and on the air intake system. There is also a custom sports exhaust system and a revised 7G-Troni transmission. The total output produced by the engine is now standing in at an impressive 830 HP (610 kW) and 1,350 Nm (997 lb-ft) of torque, compared to the standard 544 HP (400 kW) and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft) of torque. The result is a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in 4.2 seconds, 1.2 seconds faster than the standard ride, but we have no clue on what its top speed is or if the modifications will become available on the market.
