Mercedes-Benz has introduced the new GLA 45 AMG Concept during the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, in a premiere.
After it was teased just a day ago, the new Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG Concept is ending up in our news once again, this time with the model being officially unveiled, during the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. The GLA 45 AMG has received an aggressive exterior design, with new front and rear bumpers, with a rear diffuser, a four tailpipe exhaust system, canards, body side graphics, high performance brakes and 21-inch alloy wheels.
“With the Concept GLA 45 AMG, we are setting a stake firmly in the ground of the strongly growing market segment of compact SUVs. Our customers – a young target group who set great store by styling, dynamism and independence – can now start looking forward to a dynamic high-performance car”, said Tobias Moers, the AMG chairman.
Just like its smaller brothers, the A 45 AMG and the CLA 45 AMG, the new Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG Concept is taking its power from the 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine, which is producing a total output of 360 HP (265 kW) and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft) of torque. The unit is mated to a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT transmission, which is sending power to the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, allowing the crossover to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds. More details on the vehicle are limited for the moment and will probably be announced once the final production version will be unveiled.
