The production version of the Mercedes-Benz GLA has been recently spied by our photographers while the model was being tested on a public road.
Originally previewed by the concept with the same name, the Mercedes-Benz GLA is now closer than ever to its future customers, but before it will make its way into the company’s dealerships, the German based automaker has to make sure that everything works just like it should. The brand new Mercedes-Benz GLA will become a direct rival for models like the BMW X1 and Audi Q3 and its final production version might be unveiled this autumn, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The GLA will ride on the MFA platform.
Additional details on the production version of the Mercedes-Benz GLA are limited for the moment but the concept car was taking its power from a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. The unit was good for 211 HP (155 kW) and it was mated to a 7G-DCT dual clutch automatic transmission, sending power to the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. Its cabin had individual seats, a mixture of leather and a multi-layer layout for the instrument panel, amongst others. More details on the GLA will probably be announced close to its debut.
