The brand new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe has been officially unveiled over the web, as it will be making its public debut next month, at NAIAS, in Detroit.
Mercedes-Benz has officially pulled the wraps off the brand new GLE Coupe, following some spy shots, reports and even leakes. The model in question is basically a modified ML, which will go on sale against the BMW X6. This has received a new prominent front fascia, with the single bar grille and LED headlights, along with the plastic body cladding, the distinctive rear end similar to the one of the S-Class Coupe, the dynamic roof line and so on.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is also coming with a dual exhaust system and it is riding on 20-inch alloy wheels, offered as standard, but 21- and 22-inch ones can be added to it, as an option. The vehicle in question has also received a GLE 450 AMG version, which is coming with the Dynamic Select system with 5 tuned modes, the Individual, Comfort, Slippery, Sport and Sport+. This version of the vehicle is coming with the 9-speed automatic transmission.
In the Sport+ mode, the car manufacturer says that the SAV’s gears have been “acoustically accentuated” and that the instruments in the cabin respond faster. The display of the model is also showing the steering angle, the longitudinal and the lateral acceleration. The interior design has received the Nappa leather sports steering wheel, carbon fiber trim, piano black accents, stainless steel pedals and several other tweaks to help it differentiate from the regular ones.
As far as the standard models go, these are coming with the sport steering wheel, with sport seats, a new infotainment display, wood or aluminum trim and silver shadow accents. The engine lineup found on the brand new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe includes the GLE 350 d 4MATIC, with its 258 HP (190 kW) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque. The GLE 400 4MATIC is coming with a 3.0 liter V6 unit rated at 333 HP (245 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque, while the range topping GLE 450 AMG is getting a 3.0 liter twin turbo V6, with 367 HP (270 kW) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque. No pricing details have been announced yet.
