The German based automaker Mercedes-Benz is planning to introduce a new top of the line version of the GLK, which will be the GLK 63 AMG.
While its smaller brother, the GLA, is coming in with the GLA 45 AMG top of the line version, the GLK is said to gain a more impressive variant, in the shape of the GLK 63 AMG. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet but it is actually part of a report published by Car and Driver. According to our source, such an engine will be powering the GLK next year or in two years.
The Mercedes-Benz GLK 63 AMG is expected to be taking its power from the newly developed 4.0 liter V8 engine, which is currently used on the AMG GT. In its current form, the unit is producing a total of 510 HP (375 kW) at 6,250 rpm and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque, between 1,750 rpm and 4,750 rpm. In the GLK 63 AMG, the unit is expected to be toned down. More details on the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLK 63 AMG are limited for the moment and will probably be announced once the model will be officially recognized.
