Mercedes-Benz has recently announced, through the voice of Daimler, that a Granturismo yacht will hit the market sometimes next year.
According to the German company, the Mercedes-Benz Granturismo yacht will hit the market in 2013. The yacht is 46 feet long and it was developed by the Mercedes-Benz automotive designers in a collaboration with the UK based Silver Arrows Marine.
“Our task was to explore how to apply the Mercedes-Benz design language to the particular proportions and specific requirements of a boat”, said the head of design for Mercedes-Benz Cars, Gorden Wagener, in a statement.
Daimler says that the Mercedes-Benz designers are responsible for the looks of the Granturismo yacht while the Silver Arrows Marine is responsible for the “boat’s” technical equipment and consideration. Unfortunately the company didn’t announce the price for the Mercedes-Benz Granturismo yacht yet and this will be made officially probably a few months before its presentation.
This isn’t the only watercraft with the Mercedes-Benz logos on it and the company has developed an AMG-inspired custom racing boat, together with Cigarette Racing, back in 2010. The model had 2,700 horsepower.
