Mercedes-Benz has officially confirmed the E300 and E400 Hybrids which will be officially presented at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show.
After we’ve presented you with the E300 and E400 just a day ago, the German based automaker has officially announced that the two models will be presented at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Besides making the official announcement, Mercedes-Benz has also released some official images and details about the E300 BlueTEC and E400 Hybrids. The Mercedes-Benz E300 BlueTEC Hybrid will be sold in Europe and the model will come as a sedan or estate.
The E300 BlueTEC will be powered by a four-cylinder diesel engine which is developing 201 horsepower and an electric motor which is generating 27 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque (184 lb-ft), and thanks to the vehicle’s setup, the average fuel consumption will be just 4.2 liters every 100 km, with CO2 emissions of 109 g/km. The “larger” E400 Hybrid will be powered by a 3.5 liter V6 petrol engine which will be developing 302 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque (273 lb-ft), being mated to the above mentioned electric motor which will enable the sedan to return 24 / 31 / 27 mpg in city / highway / combined. This model will be launched in the US before being offered in Japan and China.
