From January to July Mercedes-Benz managed to keep record sales selling 750, 251 units, up 5.5%, only in July delivering 97,327 vehicles.
Mercedes’ Smart and Maybach brands’ sales were up 5.1% to 813,966 vehicles from January to July, last month the total reaching 105,449 units. Sales in the NAFTA region hit a new record since the beginning of the year, up 10.1% in Canada, 26% in Mexico, 13.8% in the US, 24.5% in Russia, 8.7% in South Korea, 16.8% in Japan and 6.7% in China.
“Despite many upcoming model changes and difficult market conditions in Southern Europe, for the year to date we continue on a path of growth and are well on track to setting a new sales record in 2012 that will get a special boost by our new A-Class, which goes on sale in September,” said Dr. Joachim Schmidt, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Cars.
In the first half of the year the new B-Class hit record sales in Germany with 12,142 units sold, up 108.8%, the C-Class sales were up 11.9%, the S-Class sales increased 4.6%, the M-Class increased 57.7% and the GLK 18.5.
