The first rendering with the Mercedes-Benz IAA Concept is showing the vehicle in a near-production version.
The Mercedes-Benz IAA Concept is being placed into the spotlights once again, after being introduced at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, just a few days ago, this time with the help of a couple of renderings which are showing us how this may look like in a close to production variant. The photos posted below have been signed by Theophilus Chin and they are bringing a more toned down look of the impressive vehicle which has a pretty good chance of becoming a rival for the Tesla Model S.
The German based brand said that the looks of the IAA will be influencing the next CLS and S-Class and the model has received active electric aero panels at the front and rear, boosting the length by 390 mm. The drag coefficient stands at just 0.19, thanks to these panels. Its interior design has four separate seats and a dashboard with the familiar configuration. We can also notice the round center air vents and the large display. Two additional screens, for the live engine data and climate control, have been also fitted inside it. Power is bring provided by a petrol electric hybrid system, capable of putting down a total of 274 HP. The full electric range is 32 km (20 miles) and top speed stands at 250 km/h (155 mph).
