Mercedes-Benz has recently announced the introduction of the extra long wheelbase version of the Mercedes-Benz Citan, on its local auto market.
Being basically a rebadged and more expensive version of the Renault Kangoo, the Mercedes-Benz Citan is still trying to attract some more customers into the brand and this is made these days with the addition of a new version of the model. We are talking about the extra long wheelbase variant of the Citan, which has been recently introduced in Germany, where the model is currently available for order.
Mercedes-Benz says that the Citan extra LWB has been designed to transport people and cargo and it stands at 4,705 mm in length, offering seating for up to seven people. The extra length is allowing the model to carry 300 – 400 liters of luggage more and with the second seat folded, this can increase to 3,500 liters. Power is coming from a 1.5 liter diesel engine, rated at 90 HP (66 kW) and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) of torque, which is basically the Renault dCi unit. There is also another version available, with 110 HP (81 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque. Prices for the model start at 19,400 euros, without VAT.
