“This new model, from the Tuscaloosa plant, is an important element of our growth strategy. It is one of ten additional model which will introduce within the next four years alone across all segments”, as the Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche said in a statement.
The Daimler official is actually confirming the fact that the MLC will enter production probably in late 2014, just to hit the Mercedes showrooms one year later. Sadly there’s no official word on the engines which will be used on the new SUV but rumors say that the model will get a range between 265 and the AMG 544 horsepower.
The same rumors which announce the MLC’s powerplants also say that the crossover will be priced at around 75.000 EUR for the entry-level version, but as we said above, don’t get too excited because the model will be available for its future customers in 2015.
