The German automaker is not letting this one slip – the C Class Cabriolet is still shrouded in mystery and we have yet to experience any leak coming from the Stuttgart-based manufacturer.
Instead, after the sketch that was outed just a few days ago, we now get a glimpse of the actual model, though from under the tarp only the rear right light cluster is shown. The revealing bits show us the C Class Cabriolet will be a twin brother to the C Class Coupe except for the roofline part – where now there will be an electrically-retractable soft top painted black, red and maybe even more colors. The powertrain options are no secret as well: they will be directly imported without any modifications from the C Class Coupe. We can also expect the top of the line Mercedes-AMG C43 Cabriolet to show up later this year packing a 362-hp biturbo 3.0-liter V6 but more importantly Mercedes-AMG has further down the line the meat-eating, gasoline spewing 503-hp biturbo V8 4.0-liter tucked underneath the hood of the Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet.
In other related news, Mercedes will have a full booth at the Geneva Motor Show: we’ll see the Mercedes-AMG C43 4Matic Coupe, the V Class Exclusive and even the tiny smart fortwo cabrio BRABUS edition. European premieres will include the E Class, SL, and SLC and also the Mercedes-AMG S 63 Cabriolet Edition 130. Mercedes said a total of 37 vehicles will be packed on the Swiss event’s show floor starting March 1.
