A new report is indicating that the upcoming pickup truck which will be signed by Mercedes-Benz will be called the GLT.
The first ever Mercedes-Benz pickup-truck will be coming by the end of this decade, as the company has confirmed a few weeks back, and while details on it currently remain unknown, new reports are starting to hit the web. One of these is referring to its name which is believed to be the GLT, as the guys from CarMagazine are stating. Our source is stating that this vehicle will be starting from around 30,000 USD, in the cheapest markets, and it will be coming with a wide range of petrol and diesel engines. The vehicle in question is also going to come with an independent suspension and with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.
In the entry-level models, the 6-speed manual transmission will become available, while in the range-topping ones, customers will be getting the 7-speed automatic. As far as the body style goes, our source is stating that it will be only one, the four-door twin-cab, but keep in mind that this is still a lot of years away from hitting the dealerships so chances are the bosses from Mercedes-Benz haven’t even decided on this subject. Rumor has it that the Mercedes-Benz pickup truck will be based on the new generation of the Nissan Navara too and it will be aimed towards markets such as Europe, Australia, Latin America and South Africa. It should be introduced by 2020.
