A more hardcore version of the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is rumored to be planned by the German based automaker.
Mercedes-Benz has some big plans for its hot hatch, the A45 AMG, as the model in question is rumored to get a more hardcore version. The announcement has been made public by Tobias Moers, the AMG boss, during the L.A. Auto Show, speaking to Auto Express. The updated version of the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG will not be a Black Series but this will be indeed lighter and more powerful than the current variant.
We are not sure if it will be using the same 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine under its hood, as the current A45 AMG, or as the CLA45 AMG or GLA45 AMG, but if it will, than this will be upgraded. The engine is currently rated at 360 HP (256 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, available between 2,250 rpm and 5,000 rpm. Power is being sent to the 4Matic all-wheel drive system through a 7-speed transmission. The A45 AMG, in its current shape, can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and it can reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
