The German based automaker Mercedes-Benz has recently started producing the brand new S-Class Guard, which is basically the armored version of the flagship sedan’s new generation.
Mercedes-Benz will soon be offering an armored version of the S-Class, as the model in question, the so-called S-Class Guard, has recently entered production. The vehicle’s cabin has been wrapped in 5 cm thick steel plates and despite its weight hasn’t been announced yet, only the windshield is weighing in at 135 kg (297 lbs) and it stands at a 10 cm thickness.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Guard is available at this time only in the S600 version and it will be setting you back for approximately 324,300 euros, which is more expensive than the regular version S600. The vehicle is currently being assembled in the Sindelfingen, near Stuttgart, along with the armored version of the E-Class W212, The S-Class Pullman VF 221, the G-Class W463 and the M-Class W166. To justify its extremely high price, we can mention that, besides being armored and offering a protection level up to VR7, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Guard is also hand-built. More details on it are currently limited for the moment and will be announced, along with its official price list, over the following weeks.
