Mercedes-Benz has just announced the opening of the order books for the recently unveiled S500 Plug-In Hybrid, which will be starting from 108,944 euros, including VAT, on its local auto market.
Those of you interested in adding a “green” flagship sedan in your garages are now getting another option, as the Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid is available for order. The order books for the luxury cruiser have been opened and the model is priced from 108,944 euros, in Germany, including the 19 percent VAT. The model in question is returning 84 mpg on the average European test cycle, which is the equivalent of just 3 liters of fuel burned every 100 km. The CO2 emissions stop at 69 g/km.
The Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid is taking its power from a brand new 3.0 liter turbocharged V6 engine, which is rated at 328 HP and 354 lb-ft of torque. This is backed up by the 107 HP and 251 lb-ft electric motor. Thanks to these, the flagship sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds, which is quite fast, considering the fact that it runs basically on fumes. The “green” car has been officially unveiled back in 2013, during the Frankfurt Motor Show.
