If you need a healthy dose of bling this Christmas you should look no further than London, UK, where a Brabus version of the already powerful Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG dressed in gold has been seen and photographed.
Featuring Saudi license plates, the pics show us the model roaming the asphalt less than two weeks since Brabus unveiled their gold take on the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG. Besides the obvious paint job, the model also features a wider body that sports numerous carbon fiber components. Inside – if you get close enough to one, that is – you could see an even flashier trim, with a gold & white theme that should alleviate the drivers’ concerns when he sees the speedometer going to 400 km/h.
That’s because Brabus is all about technicalities, not just appearance. Under the hood the 5.5-liter V8 twin-turbo engine has been tweaked to get rid of the “shameful” series produced 585 HP (430 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) in favor of 850 HP (625 kW) and an insane 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft) – we imagine the torque was higher but they simply limited to ensure the survival of the gearbox and transmission. While these numbers for sure have an impact on the performance, Brabus has been mum on figures – but we reckon they’ll be better than the series allowed 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 4.4 seconds and electronically limited 155 mph (250 km/h).
