Mercedes-Benz has officially pulled the wraps off what is considered to be the most opulent coupe ever produced by the brand, the S65 AMG Coupe.
Mercedes-Benz’s newest creation is named the S65 AMG Coupe and it has been officially unveiled, which, in these days basically means that the carmaker has released the first images and the press release over the web. The model in question is actually based on the four-door version of the S65 AMG and it’s coming with the AMG-spec version of the Magic Body Control, including the Road Surface Scan, the Active Body Control and several other tweaks such as the carbon ceramic brakes.
The new Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe is coming with a number of subtle updates made to its exterior design which includes the chrome pieces for the lower air intakes and for the grille, the front splitter, the rear diffuser trimmed in chrome and some pretty flashy 16-spoke ceramically polished 20-inch alloy wheels, which will definitely help this model stand out from a crowd.
Despite the exterior design of the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe is pretty impressive, its interior is at least as impressive. The two-door vehicle is coming with the “finest materials and the highest manufacturing quality”, as the carmaker is saying. The AMG Exclusive Nappa leather can be found in its cabin on the seats, in a diamond-pattern design, with some “stylistic stitching”. The electric adjustment, the seat heating, the memory function and the climate control are some of the few standard items equipping this model.
Other features found on it include the leather lined dashboard, the Nappa leather roof liner, the chromed door pins, the illuminated door sill panels with the AMG lettering on them, the door center panels with their diamond pattern design, the new 3-spoke sports steering wheel with shift paddles, the 12.2-inch color TFT display, the head-up display, Distronic Plus and much more.
Mercedes-Benz says that standard items found on the new car include the Active Parking Assist with Parktronic too, the 360 degree camera, the Burmester 3D surround sound system, the Keyless-Go package, the Driving Assistance package Plus with Pre-Safe Brake, Distronic Plus with Steering Assist, Bas Plus with Cross Traffic Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Pre Safe Plus or the upholstery in AMG Exclusive NAppa leather.
Power to the new Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe is being provided by a 6.0 liter V12 engine, which is producing a total output of 621 HP (463 kW) at 4,800 rpm – 5,400 rpm, with a peak torque of 1,000 Nm (738), available between 2,300 rpm and 4,300 rpm. The 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint takes just 4.0 seconds and the top speed has been electronically limited to 186 mph (299 km/h). Future customers of the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG will be able to place orders for the new model over the following weeks, on the Old Continent, while in the United States the model will arrive at dealerships towards the end of this year. No pricing details have been announced yet.
