The German based automaker Mercedes-Benz is planning to introduce a new baby roadster in its lineup, the so-called SLA, which will slot below the current SLK.
A brand new roadster is said to make its way into Mercedes-Benz’s car lineup as the model in question will slot below the current SLK and it will probably be named the SLA. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet and it’s part of a report but the model in question has a good chance of hitting the production line, especially if will use the new MGA platform, which is serving as a basis architecture for models like the A-Class, B-Class, CLA or GLA.
Rumors are saying that Mercedes-Benz will limit the platform to the models mentioned above, but some sources with the company are stating that the car manufacturer will actually extend the family with the so-called SLA roadster. A final decision hasn’t been taken just yet and it should be made in a few months, or even sometimes next year. Sadly we have no more details on the model in question and these will probably be announced once a positive decision will be made.
