A new report is indicating that the upcoming Mercedes-Benz SLC is just around the corner and that the order books for the model will be opened in December.
In case you have no clue on what a Mercedes-Benz SLC is, we will tell you that this is the successor of the current SLK, which will be simply renamed and fitted with the necessary exterior and interior tweaks. The model in question will basically be a facelifted version of the current roadster so don’t let the new name fool you, because underneath its fancy body, the same car will be found. The vehicle is expected to get the new front and rear bumpers, the revised LED headlights and taillights, some additional accent detailing and so on.
The cabin of the brand new Mercedes-Benz SLC will also be updated too and this is believed to get some fresh upholsteries, the latest infotainment system signed by the German based automaker and several other goodies. As far as the engine lineup goes, expect all units from the current SLK but since the vehicle will be getting the AMG Sport versions, rumor has it that the new 3.0 liter twin turbo will be found, rated at 367 HP (270 kW) and 517 Nm (382 lb-ft) of torque. The range-topping version, the SLC 63 AMG, will come with the 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine, from the C-Class and from the AMG GT. The order books for the new SLC are said to open in December, after the vehicles reveal at Frankfurt, in September, and the first deliveries will begin in March, 2016.
