Mercedes-Benz SLC will share engine with next-gen C63 AMG image

The Mercedes-Benz SLC, the Porsche 911 fighter, will share the engine with the new generation of the C63 AMG.

The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet but according to the guys at Autocar, the new Mercedes-Benz SLC will get a 4.4 liter twin turbo V8 engine under its hood, which will be shared with the upcoming C63 AMG. The total output produced by the unit is estimated to stand at 493 HP (327 kW). The SLC should weigh approximately 1,550 kg (3,417 lbs) and it will have a 48:52 weight distribution and a 320 HP power to weight ratio.

The overall length of the new Mercedes-Benz SLC will stand at 4,500 mm, being 140 mm shorter than its bigger brother, the SLS, the width at 1,939 mm and the height at 1,287 mm. The model in question will ride on 19-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 265/35 and 295/30 tires, front to rear. The Mercedes-Benz SLC will rival the Porsche 911 and it’s believed that the new sports car will also serve as a replacement for the current SLS. Additional details on the Mercedes-Benz SLC are limited for the moment and will be announced sometimes next year.
