Mercedes-Benz is planning to launch the SLS AMG Black Series in the third quarter of 2014 and the model should get approximately 630 HP from its engine.
After it has been caught on camera several times until now on the track as a prototype, where it was being tested, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series is ending up in our news once again, this time with a rumor which is saying that the supercar will be launched in the third quarter of 2014 and only 100 units will arrive in the United States.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series should get the same engine under its hood as the regular version, the new SLS AMG GT, but thanks to a reprogrammed ECU and some other minor tweaks, the total output produced by the 6.2 liter AMG V8 unit will increase to a total of 630 HP (463 kW). This should be enough to allow the supercar to sprint from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.4 seconds compared to the 3.7 seconds needed for the SLS AMG GT to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h).
The exterior design of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series won’t be left aside either and the supercar will get a look similar to the SLS AMG GT3 45 Anniversary edition and the model will get a lower and center scoop made out of carbon fiber, along with a modified front bumper, while the interior will be similar to the SL65 AMG Black Series.
