The new generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is continuing the teasing game, this time with the help of a new image which is telling us about the technology which will be found on it.
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is close to being revealed and it has been caught on camera while being tested numerous times over these past few months. But before pulling the wraps off its body, the 3-pointed star is continuing the teasing game, this time by releasing yet another image with it, which is highlighting some of the technologies added.
These include the Active Blind Spot Assist, the Active Brake Assist, the Evasive Steering Assist, the Active Lane Keeping Assist, Pre-Safe Plus, Pre-Safe Impulse Side, Remote Parking Pilot, Attention Assist, Pre-Safe Sound, FBS mobile, the Multibeam LED headlights, Beltbag, Car-to-X-Communication and a lot of other “assists and goodies”. The fifth generation of the car will be able to drive itself on motorways thanks to the Steering Pilot Function at speeds up to 80 mph and it will maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front thanks to the latest sensors and cameras.
The automatic parking by remote control will detect a space large enough for parallel or perpendicular parking and the driver can walk out and use a smartphone app in order to park his ride remotely. The Car-to-X communication will allow the new E-Class to exchange information with another compatible vehicle about weather and road conditions so what the luxury cruiser is really doing here is making the gap between current cars and the fully autonomous driving smaller. The fifth generation of the Mercedes E-Class will be officially presented to the public at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, this September.
