Here are the first official pictures of the new Mercedes CLS, taken from the brochure!
The sectioned-off headlamp design has also remained intact, and from these photo-realistic renderings, it looks like someone shot the CLS in the eyes with lemon juice. Towards the back, the CLS is getting significantly bigger fender flares, giving the Mercedes hips that look almost Bentley-like. A much flashier pair of tailights are easy to see as well.
Power is likely to be provided by Mercedes’ new range of direct injected and turbocharged engines, available in both six- and eight-cylinder configurations and topping out in the mid-400 horsepower range. There’s talk of a CLS 400 BlueHybrid variant
One engine that has been confirmed is a new twin-turbocharged 4.6-liter V8, good for 435 horsepower and 513 lb-ft of torque. Of course, Mercedes’ AMG division will not stay away from the new CLS and will be offering a new breed of CLS63 AMG.
