Mercedes Benz has unveiled today the GL Grand Edition, ahead of its launch later this year.
The Grand Edition version of the new Mercedes GL is distinguished by special light-alloy wheels with 275/50 R 20 tires, a two-tone leather interior, and black ash wood trim.
Cosmetically, the GL-Class Grand Edition sports a re-trimmed front end with blacked-out headlights, a new bumper with integrated LED daytime running lamps and a larger grille with black, high-gloss background and chromed bars.
The GL Grand Edition also comes with a special windows, made from infrared-reflecting laminated glass.
The top of the line Mercedes GL Grand Edition
will be sold with the GL500 4MATIC, featuring a 5.5-litre V8 engine developing 285 kW (388 hp) and 530 Nm of torque.
Depending on the engine choice, the Grand Edition package adds ranges from €5117 ($7180) to €3094 ($4342) on the price of the GL-Class. Two diesel powerplants are available: the GL350 CDI Grand Edition costing €80,206 ($112,545) and the GL350 BlueTec Grand Edition for €81,395 ($114,224).
If you want to go for petrol, opt for either the GL450 Grand Edition for €91,868 ($128,921) with its 4.6-liter V-8, or go for the range-topping GL500 (aka GL550 in the U.S.) Grand Edition (€99,127/ $139,108), which packs a 5.5-liter, 388-hp V-8.
