The performance oriented brand has decided to showcase a performance-oriented take on the compact luxury crossover-coupe segment, paving the way for the introduction of the GLC43 4Matic Coupe.
Mercedes is brewing and stirring its fan base with the GLC43 Coupe, which is actually an intermediate step on the flagship ladder while we’re waiting for them to wrap up the development of the GLC 63 Coupe. While the engine that sits inside the luxurious sports utility vehicle is made on a standard production line and thus doesn’t abide to the “one man, one engine” rule set by the Affalterbach brand, the 3.0-liter V6 has still been tweaked by the AMG experts. The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe has 367 PS (362 horsepower) and a top torque of 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm.
Of course it sounds incredible for a V6 given the AMG tweaks and you can also add to the list of great features the 4Matic AWD system (rear-biased torque) and reworked 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission. The GLC 43 AMG can sprint to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds and just like GLC 43 4Matic it’s also limited in Europe to 250 km/h (155 mph) – the US version is shamefully restrained to just 130 mph (209 km/h). The official public introduction has been reserved for the Paris Motor Show early October and the 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe also comes with amenities such as the Air Body Control suspension, enhanced brakes, MB-Tex and Dinamica microfiber sport seats with red stitching, and red seat belts.
