Mercedes seems to understand that ‘young buyer’ segment is very important, segment where BMW’s 1-Series is making the cards. This is not the first time when Mercedes will compete on that segment, but this time will be something different.
You see, now Mercedes already has the E Class convertible and coupe, so the next C Class Coupe will have a much better price than the old CLK price.
Some say that C-Class Coupe will have fixed rear side glass like the 1 Series, 3 Series and Infiniti G37. Things are not clear yet, because, CL Class and E Class coupe comes with hardtops (no window frames or fixed side glass).
The car will be powered most probably by a new family of direct-injected DOHC V6s, including a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated version and a smaller unit with twin turbochargers designed to take on the turbocharged BMW 135i. The turbo engine is expected to generate more than 300hp.
Some rumors say that a hybrid version based on a smaller naturally aspirated V6 will also be available.
